Relaxing Chill Out Music
Relaxing chill out music is another way of emphasising music categorised as chill-out. The term ‘chill-out music’ originated in London in 1989 when DJs played ambient mixes by artists like Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Mike Oldfield and many more, to ‘chill’ away from the fast tempo dance floor music.
The music was also labelled as Ambient House and declined in the mid 1990s because of market saturation. However, it saw a revival with DJs like Cafe Del Mar and increased exposure through Youtube in the early 2000s. Nostalgia further increased its popularity on digital radio through the Covid-19 pandemic.
AD Music shop features many artists exploring music with slow tempos and relaxed moods to promote calm and well being. Many genres are associated with this style, including downtempo, classical, world, pop, hip-hop, lounge and jazz. All can be found at AD Music.
