Sharing Dreams
‘Sharing Dreams’ is a beautifully laid back new age music album from Steve Orchard. All the best hallmarks of his musical style can be found here, from drifting electronic sounds to gentle acoustic guitar to soaring string arrangements – this is Steve Orchard at his most melodious and creative best!
Everything moves at a relaxed, unhurried pace. The music is both evolving and involving in equal measure. Pulling you in with an evocative and at times hypnotic feel, the music weaves a magical spell.
The tracks are varied, atmospheric and drifty, yet always with a positive, uplifting undertow. When rhythms do enter the mix, they do so in a chilled and delightfully understated manner.
Steve has always managed to conjure relaxed atmosphere in his music, creating depth and space allowing the listener to share his musical journey.
The twelve tracks on ‘Sharing Dreams’ are varied, yet they form a cohesive whole, a wonderfully broad canvas. Indeed, it is easy for the listener to lose themselves in Steve’s musical world as they paint their own picture on the canvas Steve has created.
A beautiful album!
Available as a duplicated CD in cardboard wallet. Downloads as 16bit mp3, apple lossless and flac and true 24bit apple lossless and flac. Check out our CD plus free 16bit mp3, apple lossless or flac option

Twelve tracks and 65 minutes of music that are primarily examples of space and cosmic music, but unlike the Divine Matrix album on the same label, that works by virtue of huge textural infinities of synths that move subtly through the cosmos, this is much more varied, with the occasional guitar, piano, flute, rhythm accompaniment and choral layers, adding to the mainstay of multi-synths that make up the incredibly calming compositions. In many ways, it’s like a cosmic music answer to Vangelis’ “Blade Runner” soundtrack, possessing a grandeur and a symphonic magic that stands firmly alongside the oceans of synths that flow and wash over the listener.
The first track kind of sets the scene with a flowing mix of melodies from the synths, keys and guitar, while the 6 minute “Crossing Snow valley” really does evoke images if icy wastes and vast snow-covered plains, as a river of spacey synths comprises the backdrop, with a single Vangelis-like synth melody wafting on top and assorted tunes in the background, only then for the sparest of drum rhythms to appear as the track gains momentum, the acoustic guitar returns, the synths weave tunes all around the heart pf the track as the backdrops flow, a male choir element is added and the whole effect is like some lost cosmic Vangelis track. “Featherdown” continues the restful nature of the album, with an assortment of synth backdrops once again doing their cosmic thing, and the acoustic guitar providing a neat textural contrast as the whole thing shimmers and spirals, ebbs and flows, a whole universe of space electronics, delicate piano and ethereal magic, wafting all around.
The 7 minute “Pearl Divers” mixes grandeur with space, tunes with almost orchestral backdrops, as the choral synths (or mellotron) rise up softly, and the addition of the lead synth melody soaring slowly into the heavens, completes the picture. “Pendulum” is less Cathedral and more Church, as the grandeur is replaced by a soft sea of sonic delights, the choir element still present, a light rhythmic propulsion adding to the flow and the whole thing simply sidling along with effortless grace on a beautiful ocean of electronic textures, hinted melodies and warm atmospheres.
No less that 7 more tracks, continue the thematic flow of the album, all of which has you spellbound for the duration.
It’s safe to say that if you’ve ever been delighted by any of Vangelis’ more spacey or tranquil or cosmically grand offerings, then this album is not only going to surprise you, it’s going to be a mainstay of your synth music playlist, for some time to come.
Inkeys, Andy G.

Joseph Baneth Allen Review –
Just finished “Sharing Dreams” by Steve Orchard, released by A.D. Music.
Now as frequent readers of my reviews here on Facebook, Goodreads, and other social media websites know, I am always forthcoming when I have a connection to an artist, musician, performer, writer, and/or creator of a book, movie, music CD, and or artwork.
Though we have never met in person, Steve and I are friends and we have exchanged emails over the years and I was recently honoured when Steve asked me to provide the “vocals” for the track “Space Travel Expands The Mind” on his “The Third Alien” album. (Don’t forget to buy your copy Zack. Jeff H. already bought his!)
While Steve always pushes the boundaries of the realms he explores with his music, as evidenced by his previous release “Macabre;” he returns to his more traditional style of instrumental compositions playing acoustic and electric guitars and keyboards that celebrate and explore nature.
My favourite tracks on “Sharing Dreams” are: “Strawberry Moon,” “Rain,” Wildfire Meadow,” “Pearl Divers,” Featherdown,” and “Perimeters of Slumber.”
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
TEN STARS!
