Callisto – Either Side of Reality
David Wright and Stephan Whitlan combine to continue their musical collaboration and produce music inspired by Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis. Now however, they do so under the banner of ‘Callisto’, presenting 75 minutes of powerful, melodic and sequencer laden electronic music. This will have fans of traditional Berlin school em as well as fans of the two musicians and the Callisto project, in raptures.
Just as with the first collaboration (The Reflecting Sky), ‘Either Side of Reality’ came from a series of improvised sessions at David Wright’s Suffolk studio between 2020 and 2021. This time however, the duo decided to continue as ‘Callisto’.
While the duo clearly pay a passing nod to the more established luminaries of the genre, ‘Either Side of Reality’ is another original and sophisticated slice of electronic music.
It clearly reflects the musical vision and expertise of both artists, but with a clear intent of the collaboration metamorphosing into something completely new.

Note to iOS uses
Apple iOS up to and including iOS 8 won’t download zip files in Safari. The easiest way around this is to download the zip files onto a computer and then open the zip and transfer the tracks into iTunes (just drag the folder onto the iTunes icon in the dock). Then sync the iOS device to iTunes in the normal way.
Alternatively, there are apps in the Apple App store that will open zip files directly on your iOS device (iPhone/iPad).
