AD Music is pleased to present Helen Woodbridge, aka EllYTree, a popular performer on the East Anglia folk music scene, including local and BBC radio.

Originally conceived as an alias for singer/songwriter Helen Woodbridge, it became a duo then a trio. But in recent years EllYTree has been Helen, backed occasionally by guest musicians.

The music crosses art-folk, pop, world music and other singer songwriter genres with a distinctive passion and flair. Her unique musical style is imaginative, soulful and enchanting.

But the true genius in Helen’s often quirky but always intelligent songs is her sublime storytelling prowess. It covers just about everything from gardening to love, Greek mythology to wanderlust. And all the while combining sharp observational lyricism with strong catchy melodies.

Vocal comparisons have been made with Eddi Reader, Mama Cass, Hazel O’Connor, Joan Armatrading and Joni Mitchell and the songwriting of David Byrne.
